A detective and his partner tries to solve a murder case whilst finding themselves stuck in a 1940s, film-noir world.
Eela is an aspiring playback singer and single mother. She has given up all her dreams to raise her only son. "Heidi (Osment), who initially left her small town of Pleasant Valley with the dream of one day becoming a successful painter, has put her own art on hold to excel as an art gallery curator. Now, a week before the gallery's big Christmas party, she must return home to watch her niece and nephew.
